Lin Songwei Weona is a Singapore-based clarinetist and aspiring arts manager, currently in her final year of the Diploma in Music program at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), majoring in clarinet performance. As a dedicated and multifaceted musician, Weona’s artistic journey is defined by her commitment to both musical excellence and the development of Singapore’s cultural landscape.

 

As a clarinetist, Weona has cultivated a rich and varied performance portfolio. She has appeared in solo recitals and collaborated extensively in chamber ensembles, orchestras, wind ensembles, and wind orchestras. These experiences have allowed her to engage with a wide-ranging repertoire, from classical masterworks to contemporary pieces, and have nurtured her versatility as a performer. Her participation in masterclasses with esteemed international musicians and her performances at local and regional music festivals have further shaped her interpretive voice and broadened her artistic outlook.

 

Weona’s passion for music extends beyond the stage into the realms of arts management and production. She is currently involved with The Wind Academia and Musicians’ Initiative, where she takes on a hands-on role in concert logistics, artist coordination, and programming. Her work includes planning and executing performances, liaising with performers and partners, and ensuring smooth operational flow—skills that reflect her keen sense of organisation and collaborative spirit.

 

In addition to her ongoing professional engagements, Weona also contributes actively to the international music scene. She serves on the organising committees of several prestigious competitions, including the Singapore International Piano Competition and the Incheon Music Competition. Her involvement in these platforms underscores her interest in creating opportunities for artistic exchange and in supporting emerging talent on a global scale.

 

Balancing her dual passions for performance and production, Weona is deeply invested in shaping thoughtful, high-quality musical experiences. Whether on stage or behind the scenes, she is driven by a vision of music as a collaborative, community-building force.
